As a family member of someone who was here I have extensive experience with the serious mistreatment by staff of both my family member and how staff responded to us during our family member's lockdown. Repeated attempts to talk to my brother were denied after the initial month. Finally after 3 months I was able to talk with my brother and then after his "therapist" promised we could have weekly calls my messages stopped being returned. We were repeatedly not given basic information about his condition despite requests. This included information about how his detox was going and other issues. My brother had a serious medical issue prior to going in and we thought that it was going to be taken into consideration as a medical facility but it was not. The staff suggested expensive tests which we agreed to, but then we had to fight to get the results. When we did finally get the test results it turned out they did standard tests that were not at all what we agreed upon or he needed for his condition. Despite written requests no accommodations were made for him given his medical condition which resulted in a worsening of his health. After his release we found out that he was abused and the facility operates like a prison. There was ZERO family therapy. ZERO. We were told lie after lie while believing our family member was being cared for and simultaneously estranged from him. I would not recommend Baja Rehab to anyone and our whole family has been traumatized by our experience.

This place is a scam in every way. The website shows pictures of random places that are not the razor wire enclosure of a filthy lot. They have only been open a few years and it's doubtful if the staff is sober. Not for very long if they are. It's a fear based system based on cigarette privileges. The food is awful. The place is a prison and purely a financial grab. DON'T GO THERE!!!!

My brother in law went here and we are devastated that we decided to place him here. At first we felt hope and relief to have found this place, and in the beginning they do a good job of selling you on that. But the reality is truly horrific. They presented themselves as a medical facility which they are not. After the initial intake they gave us almost zero information and limited contact for months telling us stories that we now know were made up. Although we may never know if all the horror stories we heard after our family member was released are true, we do know for a fact that our experiences as family members were that we were dismissed, lied to and we were given little updates or information. This place is not a rehab and they don't do any therapy. They don't have the patients best intentions and I am not even sure that the staff is licensed based on the care of our client. We need to find a way now to forgive ourselves for putting our family member in such a vulnerable position.

I am beginning to wonder if some of these reviews are fake because our experience was so different. Our family member came out completely traumatized telling stories about being handcuffed to a bed all night, and other horrible stories about staff abuse. What we do know is that we were never told about the work camp some of the patients are forced to go to which sounds like a prison detail — they say they use this for motivation when someone acts out — but this is not shared in advance with family members and we only found out after months no contact with our family member. There was ZERO family therapy the entire time our family member was there. In doing research on the staff now, we are realizing that the "therapist" assigned is not even on the website and may not have been licensed. Be VERY careful about placing someone here because you are subjecting them to extreme situation and they are not being truthful with you about what to expect.

I do not recommend Baja Rehab at all. As a business owner myself, I clearly understood from just a week of being there that this facility is strictly a business operation that prioritizes profit over patient care. They hire salesmen to market their services to wealthy families, and the actual well-being of the patients seems to be an afterthought. The facility is severely understaffed, continuously admits new patients despite the lack of care, and I witnessed several shady practices. Additionally, I paid for two months of treatment but left after just one week and have not received any partial refund. The facility is heavily misrepresented online. It took a month and a half just to get my $250 back that was for the "store" that we never had access to despite being told we would. Similar to a prison setup. Overall, I strongly advise against choosing this facility. Your loved ones will be neglected and you will be told by staff that you need to spend more money to keep them there longer.

DO NOT GO TO BAJA REHAB!!!! They hire predators, abuse patients, consistently run out of psych meds, put troubled patients in Anexos, lie to families, and the list goes on. I am a former patient and employee. I was there over 6 months. Honestly it's just a matter of time before someone actually dies there. This place is very new and poorly run. Save yourself the trauma and go somewhere else.

When we were looking for a place for our son we felt so unsure and afraid we may not receive the help we so desperately needed. We searched endlessly, we read reviews, we made so many phone calls and we prayed for guidance. I wish we'd known then what we know now. The people at Baja Rehab have been such a blessing to us! They have been so patient and helpful! Shalom took the time to listen to our fears and concerns, he provided our son with a beautiful, safe and professional place to heal and to learn and to grow. He provided transportation for us from the airport and through the border. He guided us and encouraged us, answered our questions and talked us through all programming and procedures. Charly helped our son through many difficult times and provided him the tools he needs to not only face his future but look forward to all his opportunities. In so many ways they customized programming to our needs and went out of their way to care for our son. As we live so very far away and couldn't visit often we appreciate how they kept communication open and provided countless video calls for us to see and speak with our son. When it was time for the after care we were so impressed with all the opportunities they had for our son to start integrating back into real life. They provided support and guidance every step of the way. We will forever be grateful for all of the staff at Baja Rehab and wish them all rich blessings!

FIVE STARS is not enough to rate the place that saved our daughter's life. Baja Rehab was our last hope — in truth it was a miracle. For a large amount of time she was missing and not present for holidays, weddings, birthdays; many sleepless nights were spent in prayer and so many waking hours spent searching for her. She was addicted to all of the drugs, she would take anything to numb herself from pain. She desperately wanted to be well and to be free from the curse of the drugs that were destroying her, but she couldn't do it on her own. Baja Rehab generously opened its doors to our girl. They told us they handled the most difficult addictions and no matter what she does, she won't be kicked out. Our girl proved to be one of their most challenging cases, but in the end turned out to be someone they are all incredibly proud of. Located in sunny Rosarito, BR was a beautiful place for treatment and healing. She is transitioning well and enjoying the freedoms of being drug-free. We cannot thank BR enough for the mercy, generosity, breadth of spirit, sacrifice and care they showed our daughter and our family.

The treatment and communication from the first call to admissions through my son's stay and ultimate departure from Baja Rehab was excellent. We had been through 5 high end rehabs and this was by far the best care and communication. Absadi, Adam, Shallom, Dr Juarez, Estaban were all wonderful. However EVERYONE was excellent. They understand their patients and truly care about their recovery. I highly recommend Baja Rehab. I know it's a difficult step but if you are reading this then you are at "that point" and waiting is running the risk we all fear. My only regret is we didn't call sooner.

There's so much to say — I'll just start by saying Baja Rehab saved the life of our loved one. In doing so, they helped our family become whole again. They not only treated our loved one, but continuously stayed in touch with us to walk us through everything — before, during, and after admission. Absadi and Shalom were especially helpful, supportive, and caring. I'll never forget when Shalom told me "You're not alone." We felt so alone and helpless before we connected with Shalom and Baja Rehab. Absadi returned all our messages and calls, and reached out repeatedly to provide crucial updates about our loved one's progress. Above all, we are indebted to Joe (Jose), the therapist. He spent hours on the phone with us, even when not on duty. He even set aside time on days off to communicate with us. Your reviews are why we went with you guys, and I hope my review helps give some desperate family the initial focus and motivation to get their loved one the support that they need. This is a lockdown rehab treatment facility — not a vacation resort — it's not going to be easy, but it will be what they and you need.

BAJA Rehab is a life changer. My son has battled with addiction for over 15 years. He has been in and out of in-patient rehabs nearly a dozen times. Relapsing in most cases immediately after discharge. The longest stretch of sobriety being 120 days. During the last 4 years he was homeless when not in a program or a sober living home. Then, after much prayer a friend sent me a link to Baja Rehab. I spoke with Adam, one of the owners, and was delighted by what I heard. My son stayed 8 months at Baja. The first few months were difficult, and he was not pleased when he realized he could not walk out. Time was what he needed, and Baja ensured he got it. He has been back in California for 2 months now. He is 10 months clean, which is the longest sobriety he has had in 17 years. The day after he was released from Baja, he told me that although he hated it the first few months he knows it was probably the best place I could have sent him. I am very grateful for Baja Rehab!

Our son had a severe drug addiction. He had been using opioids for 15 years, and he was a daily user of fentanyl for 7 years. His father and I were basically waiting for the call that he was gone, forever. We found out about Baja Rehab. Of course, we had the same reservations everyone has. Is Mexico safe? Will the treatment be at the same standards as in the states? My son spent four months there. It is a locked facility, which, in my opinion, is the key. I guarantee you that my son would have walked away within a week or two, if he could have. The facility proved to be 100% secure. He gradually started thinking clearly and feeling better emotionally and physically. After four months, the staff found him an amazing sober living in San Diego to transfer to. He is working, sober, has a sponsor, and is going to a weekly meeting. This year I am planning Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations with both of my sons for the first time in a long time, and I can't wait! Instead of dreading the holidays because they were just a reminder of what used to be, I can look forward to spending time with a child that I had thought was gone forever.

When I first arrived at this rehab, I hated everything about it. The rules were strict, the lockdown environment made me feel trapped, and all I wanted was to leave. I was angry, combative, and convinced that I didn't belong there. But the TRUTH is, I did belong there, and I'm GRATEFUL every day I was forced to stay. The structure I initially resisted became the foundation necessary in my recovery. Most of the staff, who seemed harsh at first, turned out to be some of the most compassionate and dedicated people I've met! The lockdown environment, though extremely tough, forced me to sit with myself. No distractions. Just TRUTH and time to reflect on my life. And that was what I needed to begin real healing. Jessica (one of the owners), the counselors, my psychologist and some of the guards didn't let me give up on myself, even when I was ready to. This place changed my life for the better! It was what I needed to make me never want to screw up and go backwards again!

I used drugs for the first time at age 15, started with marijuana turned to meth, heroin, fentanyl by the age of 19. I had no more hope for my life and no freedom to make my own decisions. I was constantly in and out of jail. I was stuck in the cycle of meth addiction doing the same thing every day for 8 years — never once had a detox or a day of sobriety. In May 2023 I arrived at Baja Rehab and they helped me get off of drugs. I went to classes, learned a lot about myself and they brought light into my life, taking the best care of me and always treating me with kindness and respect. I'm now over 2 years clean from any type of substance or alcohol. This place has a very calm atmosphere that I would have never found anywhere else. Thank you Baja Rehab for pulling me out of that dark cloud I was living in and making me want to live life again.

I came to Baja Rehab at a time when I knew I needed help, but I didn't know what to expect. Looking back now, I'm really glad I made the decision to come here. This place played a major role in getting me sober and helping me stay that way. From day one, the staff took the time to get to know me — not just my addiction, but what I was dealing with mentally and emotionally. The psychiatrist helped get me on the right medications, which made a huge difference in how I felt and functioned day to day. The psychologist and counselors helped me understand a lot about myself. Jessica and Adam do truly have a heart of gold and make you feel like you're not alone in this journey. I also really appreciated Shalom and his brother Absadi for being part of the process. One of the things I didn't expect when I got here was how many genuine friendships I'd end up making. I'm still sober, and I give a lot of credit to what I learned and experienced during my time here. If you're serious about making a change, I'd recommend this place without hesitation.

This place is one I was terrified to go to, to get the help I needed, but I was more terrified of not going and putting in the work to help save my life; and that is exactly what Baja Rehab did for me. With the help and support of all the staff and the amazing work I did with my psychologist, I started to change my way of thinking, acting and behaving. This place truly helped me to see myself, understand myself and love myself. I found the strength to stop running from my problems and finally face them head on and stop lying to myself. Because of Baja Rehab, I have reconnected with myself, my friends and my family. After six months there of rigorous work, I am still happily sober with nine months, working two jobs and finally back on track in life. My life feels so full and fulfilled and I'm extremely grateful that I had the opportunity to go there and remember exactly what I'm made of.
